The Buffalo Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting is a committee affiliated with the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministry serving Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts USA within the 8 counties of Western New York.

The Committee is dedicated to promoting “Duty to God” at each level of Scouting. We are affiliated with:

• National Catholic Committee on Scouting® (NCCS), an advisory to the
• Boy Scouts of America,
• National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire, and
• Region II of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, the
• National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry and the
• Greater Niagara Frontier Council.

Each year the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting holds several events to promote Catholic Scouting. These events include:

• Scouting Religious Encounter
• Scouter Development
• Religious Emblems Counselor Training
• Youth Religious Emblem Recognition Ceremony
• Adult Recognition Dinner

We are able to accomplish these events, because of the many dedicated leaders that donate their time and energy to providing a quality program.
